"I first picked up a bowling ball when I was 11 years old, bowling in the Friday Junior Leagues right here at Idle Hours South, back when everyone knew it as South Side Bowl. By the time I was 14, I was keeping score for the annual No Tap Tournament and not long after, I was working in the back as a pin-chaser.
When I was 15, I got serious about my game thanks to my coaches Tre Veltri Harris, Bill Ridgeway, and the late Rich Heim. They helped me believe I could compete at the highest levels someday. Later, Joe Hutchinson became a big influence, keeping my game sharp through my high school years.
January 5th, 1990 is a date I’ll never forget. I bowled my first 300 during the Friday Junior league with a Columbia Black U Dot. A year later, I won the NY Junior Masters Tournament in Vestal, NY from the top seed, averaging 247 in qualifying and shooting 220 in the televised final. For that win, I used another Black U Dot drilled with negative thumb weight (look that one up, kids).
All through high school, I led both the Lackawanna Scholastic and Friday Jr Major leagues, averaging anywhere from the high 190s to over 210 my senior year. College bowling was on the table, but I chose the University of Scranton for Computer Information Systems and pursued a career in IT instead.
Even in college, I never left the lanes. I bowled scratch leagues, picked up some league titles, a high-average award, and rolled a few more honor scores (three more 300s and two 800s). Around the same time, I got my start in the pro shop world, working for Dave Bainbridge at Bowler’s Alley, where I learned all sides of the trade.
In February 1993, Dan Ghezzi gave me the chance to run the pro shop at Valley Lanes. I drilled for many of the top bowlers in the area and witnessed the game change overnight with the introduction of the XCalibur. I helped a lot of great bowlers transition to reactive resin, including XCaliburs, Purple and Teal Rhino Pros, Piranhas, Ninjas, and many others.
As life got busier with work and family, bowling took a bit of a back seat. I do not regret it. I met my wife through bowling and my best friend of over 35 years came from my early bowling days. Bowling has given me some of my best memories and a few heartbreakers too.
Now, being back in the pro shop and doing this every day feels like coming full circle. I owe so much to this sport, and I am looking forward to building more connections and memories here at PERFEXXXXION Pro Shop."

"I didn’t start bowling until my early 20’s when I joined a league on Thursday nights at South Side Bowl with my sister. I then joined a mixed league at Idle Hours and while selling 50/50 tickets for my league to the guys in the Times Major League, I met Keith. We started dating, and my love for the game grew. I added a ladies league at Valley Lanes and a mixed league at Green Ridge Lanes to my weekly bowling schedule. 3 years after Keith and I met and several games later, we got married. I am now co-owner and business manager of both shop locations. My responsibilities include keeping the shop stocked, placing custom orders for items not in stock like bags, balls & shoes, placing orders for custom Perfexxxxion Pro Shop jerseys, scheduling appointments and lessons, Facebook posts, and all clerical aspects of running the shop."

"Bowling has been part of my life for as long as I can remember—I come from a family of bowlers, so you could say it’s in my blood. I’ve been on the lanes for 29 years, rolling 12 perfect 300 games and 3 800 series along the way. I even bowled in college for Union College in Barbourville, KY.
I started working in pro shops at age 21 and have been helping bowlers get the right fit and equipment ever since. Over the years, I’ve worked at Pogo Family Pro Shop, Hudson Valley Bowling Supply at Tarsio Lanes in Newburgh, NY, Strike It Rich Pro Shop, and now PERFEXXXXION Pro Shop at Idle Hours South in Scranton, PA.
When I’m not in the shop or on the lanes, you can usually find me enjoying the outdoors, hunting, working in my woodshop (I even build my own ball racks), or tinkering with anything mechanical. Bowling may be my career, but it’s also my passion—and I’m always happy to help bowlers improve their game."

"I started bowling at age 6 with my brother and two cousins on Friday nights at South Side Bowl. I had the pleasure of being able to watch and envy the likes of Mike Markis and Shea Bittenbender during our Friday league.
By 12 I had fallen out of love with bowling and wanted to focus more on my passion for soccer, as a goal keeper. That passion was unfortunately cut short my first year in college due to injury.
After graduating from Johnson College with a degree in computer information systems, I started my first job and a co-worker there pulled me back into bowling on Thursday nights at Idle Hours North.
One night a week turned into a close relationship with Mike Markis at Strike It Rich Pro Shop for lessons and new equipment. That relationship turned into multiple new friends, who I can now call family.
A huge part of that family is Keith and Amy at Perfexxxxion Pro Shop who willingly and enthusiastically took me under their wing to help with the new pro shop. They have given me the tools I need to find any success in this sport. That in turn has lead me to be able to represent Storm Products International and Turbo Grips, allowing me the opportunity to recommend the best option to our customers who are interested in the products I have the honor of representing."

"In 2022 I was on a date with my girlfriend at Idle Hours North. While bowling, there was a gentleman to the right of us who was hooking the entire lane and blowing up the pins. I didn't know it then but in that moment I fell in love with the sport of bowling.
In 2023 I met Keith where he would drill my first ball, the IQ Tour Ruby. That summer I would join my first league with my girlfriend and her cousin where I would take advantage of the summer deal Valley Bowling Lanes offered and teach myself how to bowl two-handed. By the end of the summer I averaged 206 and had a 286 game. From there I was hooked.
That fall I would join 3 leagues and continue to learn about the sport both online and from talking to keith in the shop. At the end of the 2023-2024 season I would throw my first 300 game, in practice.
After bowling poorly throughout the summer, I had my breakout season starting the fall of 2024. The year would encapsulate 4 sanctioned 300 games, 4 unsanctioned 300 games, and a 821 series come the end of the 2024-2025 season.
From this I was able to approach Keith and ask to work in the pro shop where I am super grateful that he and his wife allow me to help out and help our customers with their equipment the way Keith has always helped me with my equipment."
